Jo Morison

Who is Jo?

Jo lives in Shropshire but is a Welsh lady at heart! Jo has a passion for the natural world, enjoys walking and is a member of the RSPB. In her spare time she likes to catch up with friends and family, attempt some crafting, and maybe watch some superhero films! Jo also loves holidays and adventures, and spent four months travelling India eating lots of curry!

Why does she do her job

When studying at University I found volunteering to be one of the best ways to make the most of my time, and came to work for this team to inspire other students to do the same.

Shaunagh Smith

Who is Shaunagh?

Shaunagh is an environmental enthusiast, always encouraging family and friends to become more sustainable. Her passion for the environment extends to volunteering; as a mentor for Grow Wild, helping enthuse and encourage a range of local groups to learn more about native wildflowers and as part of the VeggieFest team, organising a yearly festival to share the environmental benefits of vegetarianism. Shaunagh was Highly Commended ‘Sustainability Champion’ at the 2017 Green Gown Awards for her Sustainability efforts. Shaunagh loves Olympic Weightlifting and reading in her free time, but her favourite hobby is trying different things and taking on new challenges, from surfing to ballroom dancing.

Why does she do her job

I see people who use our services, supported to become even better versions of themselves. It is so rewarding to see this knowing that, even if only indirectly, I have had a small part to play in that.

Who is Abbie?

Abbie is a Chester girl born and bred. In her spare time she likes nothing better than spending time with her family (particularly her 2 nephews) and friends. Abbie has a pet Tortoise called Morrissey. Abbie likes Harry Potter books and is a massive fan of Take That and 90’s Brit pop!

Why does she do her job

To see students develop both their employability and personal skills.

Becca Stroud

Who is Becca?

Becca has grown up in Chester and has recently returned to the city after graduating from university. Throughout her studies, she took part in lots of volunteering projects, and she particularly enjoyed running a science club in local primary schools. Becca’s biggest passion is music; she loves to play piano, flute and guitar, and enjoys singing in a local band. She also loves adventure, and this year she spent four months travelling around Asia, Australia and New Zealand, where she learnt to surf and got to cuddle a koala!

Why does she do her job

She loved volunteering at university and wants to help other students have similar experiences.
